Hi all

I am completly stuck with this, iam trying to find an editior to edit a file that has a A97 extension, firmware file for a atmel memory chip. I want to edit some default values but need to be able to view and find the bits i wont to edit. Non of the hex editors or programming software i have will open the file so i have had to use notepad.

Any suggestions would be great, below is a couple of lines of the file if that help to identify it.

The actual file shows as a A79 File

It should be a binary file containing the firmware of the network chip, you will need to use a hexadecimal editor or similar to manually edit specific portions you know the values of (i.e. 0x100-102 could be something you would want to change, although would appear as two random characters to you)
