As far as I know, IPhone apps can be coded using XCode, which can only run on mac.
Does this stop it from being a free software?

No, the fact that you can only code an app using a particular piece of software does not, in itself, preclude you from using a Free Software license. However, I do believe that the libraries that you need to utilize to produce iPhone applications are closed-source, and I don't know the license details of that, so I can't say for sure whether or not that's okay.
Wow I changed my sig!
