Hi to all,
Happy to become a member of your community!
I'm getting straight to the point....

I 've never created anything important relational to programming except some simple applications at the university.

I now need to create an application with a GUI connected to a database as a small project at work but i have no idea what to use an how to do it.I will not get paid for that it is not something i am obliged to do but it would be good for me if i manage to comlete it.

This is supposed to be used in order store our "bad clients".
there will be 9 fields stored in the database like name surname DOB etc,a picture of the client, and a comments field.(i was thinking of storing the path of the picture i think it might be better)

I would like to use the application in order to import data to the database delete data search data(queries) eg by surname,DOB etc and show them on screen.
A very simple one is shown at the image bellow.I have read some tutorials about mysql and i was thinking of using it as its queries are not so complicated for me.
But i don't know what it would be better for the application!java,c,c++ etc?
What do you propose? As an extra info, the database may need to handle thousands of
"bad clients".

I had in mind something like in the first window when the application start to give the admin the opportunity to import new member,to delete a member,to search by fields etc and for the simple user just to search an see in a new window the data stored for the above imports.
A little comfusing maybe....
Any kind of help would be really appreciated on how to start what to be carefull about etc...Also if someone could help on coding examples it would be perfect....

Thanks a lot in advance for your time!

Father's name seems rather strange as a data value.

That said, there are several languages you could choose, ranging from Lazarus to Visual Basic or C# to C++ with a GUI toolkit such as Qt.

Thanks for your reply...Yes maybe it sounds strange but when two persons name and surname match father's name is one more clue to compare thats why i will import that value...Thanks a lot anyway. Is there any link for QT?Of course i will google it but just in case there is something good to propose....

There are a LOT of resources out there for Qt. Depending on your operating system, you can get a lot of tools easily or with a little more work :)
