I guess this falls into OS category... I have Windows Xp SP3 and Ubuntu 10 installed on my computer and full hd compatible led screen.

Basically the problem is that on Ubuntu I can have 1920x1080 resolution on desktop, but when on Windows when I select 1920x1080, desktop is not fullscreen; it's missing about an inch on left and right side, and about half an inch top/bottom. The picture isn't "stretched" and it's rather annoying.

The largest resolution that is "fullscreen" on Windows is 1440x900 and after spending hours in Ubuntu, it kind of hurts my eyes. :crying:

Any thoughts/help is greatly appreciated as I've quite literally ran out of ideas.

Do you have the correct drivers for your video card? Can you play games, such as OpenArena, in that resolution in Windows?

I've downloaded the latest drives (which I think I already had installed but nonetheless) and it didn't help. I can play game on 1920x1080 but it's not fullscreen, same goes for videos. Would it be possible to get Ubuntu drives for Windows? I mean, probably Ubuntu uses some other drives and maybe those devs made it for Windows as well.

Unfortunately, the drivers generally get written for Windows first. My guess is it's an issue with Windows XP, but I could be wrong.

Problem fixed! I downloaded Catalyst Control Centre and set DVI Scaling Option to 0%.
