I can make a link to a folder or file in both Windows and Linux, and it will show up in Eclipse, in Windows as a *.lnk file. Since links exist in both OS, I was wondering if it was possible to use that link in the String parameter for FileWriter, like new FileWriter(Data + "\\tst.txt"); or something to that extend?

Are you create a link and using that link in "Data" variable? and hoping to create tst.txt file to that linked folder?
