I'm looking for some books or sites that I can recommend to some people, but I'm not really looking for books that teach you how to program in a specific language, but more along the lines of problem solving with general programming concepts that are practically used everywhere. These are the kinds of questions I'm looking for:

IE #1: If you have a user enter a number, it should do different things depending on the number entered, how would you accomplish that?

IE #2: If you have an array of variables, how would you show the position it's in, and its value?

IE #3: If you wanted to automate a set of code, how would you do that? What if you wanted to use that code over and over again until a flag has been changed?

No problem. I've taught from a different book, but that one works quite well :)
