I am using this software to write code.
Using visual to write codes.
But when I open a file I have been working on, the build and debug options are greyed out. Always.
Only if I copy and paste to another project can I build/debug the code. very annoying.

Is there a way around this?

Additional Details:
the product is registered. So it isn't regarding this I don't think.

Do you open the project or a specific file?

I open a specific file, and when it loads the build and debug options are always greyed out unless I copy them to a new project. very annoying.

The thing is that in VS you HAVE TO put files into projects to debug /compile them. Even if you want to simply say "Hello world". When you want to edit a file - simply open the PROJECT and then open the FILE from the main window.

According to me instead of copying the project you should go on the option of open project from menu bar of the main frame of Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express and then debug the project.
