Hi guys,

I'm wondering if it's possible to program something that takes written lyrics and automatically syncs them to a song?

Here's the backstory: Our friend Dan Bull makes rap songs on social issues in Britain. Here's his rebuttal to Lily Allen:
YouTube - Dan Bull - Dear Lily [an open letter to Lily Allen]

I asked him how he makes these popular "letter-writing" music videos, and he told me that he takes a video screengrab of himself typing the lyrics and then spends hours editing it to sync with the track.

I'm wondering if it's possible to automate this somehow. I know there are sites that can play-back your key strokes (TypeWith.me: srgHcZJ4Vd), but what about syncing this to music?

How hard would that be? Is it possible?

Thanks!

Sorry to rain on your parade, but it'd be HARD. You're going to need sound libraries, knowledge of and ability to use speech-recognition algorithms... and PHP is definitely not the way to do it. I'd use C++ if anything.
