I believe that was their main decision to leave the Symbian line, they are focusing on Windows 7 phones.

Because Microsoft bribed Nokia, and they were also able to get a man inside Nokia to engineer the whole deal. It's Microsoft manipulating the system as usual, overriding the wishes of consumers to make Steve Ballmer and Horacio Gudiavera even richer than they already are. See my blog about it here.

@alexander, you didnt get my point. I just ask , why nokia need to focus phone 7 , why symbian is not enoug anymore, what makes symbian that bad and phone 7 that cool.

@darklord, yes i believe that also. Alot of people believe nokia ceo elop is a M$ spy. He was working in M$ and now he is ceo of nokia.
Android is an open source system, very powerfull, linux kernel, an awesome os. Why need phone 7.

I really dont like windows mobile, i hope phone 7 is better. anyway i can understand why nokia choiced phone 7. M$ is a huge company bla bla. But whyyy only phone 7. Why not also android models.
I think this is my last nokia phone(E5-00).

Microsoft is a gigantic, powerful corporation, and frankly I think it's just scary how much control they have over the system. I truly hate MS, though everyone else seems to love them. Probably something to do with the fact that Bill Gates gives money to charity, and people still believe Bill Gates runs MS for some reason.

I know this is kind of off-topic, but I would just like to point out that the money Bill Gates gives to charity COMES OUT OF BILL GATES'S OWN POCKET, NOT OUT OF MICROSOFT'S REVENUE. You can't attribute the good deeds of one man to an entire organization, especially a corporation. As far as I know, Microsoft doesn't give a penny out of its revenue to any philanthropic cause (I may be wrong on this, though, I just haven't heard of any instances of them personally donating to charity). All they do is take credit for everything Bill Gates is doing. Another thing people don't realize is that ALMOST ALL COMPANIES donate some of their profits to charity, because it improves their PR. Bill Gates just gets more publicity.

Microsoft cant afford to loose on smartphone's market. And as far as I know nokia was in bad condition on this field too.
I also don't like idea of leaving Symbian mostly cause of Qt . I really like those libraries as much as whole Qt creator IDE. Any one knows whats nokia policy about that ?

Nokia just wasn't in the run any longer when iPhone, Android and Windows 7 phones became popular. To stick with Symbian and tell all app developers that you don't need to make three apps , you need to make four different, it just wasn't going to happen. Additionally, Microsoft saw their lack of customers where Android and iPhone took most of them, so of course MS persuaded Nokia into Windows Phone instead of going Android. You can say a lot about Microsoft, but in their point of view, they just HAD to get another big phone manufacturer, and in Nokia point of view, they just had to change OS to not loose any more market share than they already did. If you look at the business case, it was a big win-win for both companies. Also, Nokia can start saving money by not running their own app store in the future, and their own research and development can focus on the phones instead of being single-runner with symbian.

I think not. Their most budget versions (those for about $20-$50) will stick with symbian as long as symbian is working. But with the high-end phones, it will be only Windows Phone 7, and of course, 8 when that comes...
