I love how IDLE has this drop down menu which tells you all the functions a module has. The only problem for me is, certain modules force python to close??? I'll be working on certain programs and then all of the sudden the menu will drop down and I'll lose everything as I watch the window just disappear :-(

I prefer Notepad++ and console (terminal) over IDLE.
A conclusion is where you got tired of thinking.
#define class struct // All is public.

I use vim, you can download plugins for code autocompletion and snippets. It is a hassle to learn, but it is definitely worth it because you won't have to learn any other editor ever after, nor want to.

Or Gvim if you are running Windows and want a more simple solution to it.
