I have no idea how to phrase this properly, but is there anyway i can simplify the designer view?
At the moment simple forms with 2 buttons and a picture for a background are ranking in at 80 lines because the editor keeps inserting HUGE amounts of code. It's all the initialize code components etc, but it's very annoying because i'm in the middle of a big and important project and i don't need to see an extra 80 lines of code that i didn't type or want.
It's making the more complicated programs i have almost impossible to edit because you just get lost in the sea of code. (weighing in at 500+ lines for one atm, and it's horrible because theres no way i can organise it, everytime i add a button etc it generates code automatically into my designer view) " Friend WithEvents Button2 As System.Windows.Forms.Button" right in the middle of my code. It's making the code far too crowded and stressful to deal with.
I never remember visual basic being like this, but i recently installed this new edition (2010 Express Edition) on my home laptop, and while it's got a host of cool new features, this is one i can do without.
Can anyone help me?
Visual Basic 2010 is displaying uneccesary amounts of code

Can you post what you already have? I can try to trim it down for you.

, @cdg I think what he's saying is its auto-generated code in the designer file. He doesnt want all of it because it creates unnecessary code, and wants to know if he can turn it off.
A man can be defined by what he does when no one is looking.
