Hey. According to this official Youtube post Change to disallow framing youtube.com - YouTube APIs Announcement Forum | Google Groups, youtube from now on will disallow framing of the video pages. Embedding is still allowed though.

I have tried working around it with object, as well as iframes and framesets even tried loading a Youtube watch page in a lightbox in wordpress. No luck.

To test, take any Youtube watch page, like this one (it's Justin Bieber, not intending to get u nauseous) YouTube - Justin Bieber - Never Say Never ft. Jaden Smith , and try to frame it somehow. I can't get it to work, but then I am somewhat lame.

How does one go around this problem, and also, how the hell has YT managed to disallow all kinds of framing

Javascript can detect parent frames and pop out of them (or prevent anything from rendering), you likely cannot iframe it (at least not without using a script to download the source and display it again which is messy)

The embed code is still using an iframe.

Hey. OP here again. I was using a public username from bugmenot that now has been removed. So I signed up with my regular email instead.

Thanks for the answers people. BlaineSch, an embed does not do the trick for me, cause embedded Youtube on autoplay does not count views. I want the views :)

And grabbing the source and re-displaying it is indeed too messy.

Wondering if I should give this up... Unless anyone else has any other ideas.
