Well Hello first to everybody,

I have few questions regarding how to embed a game like chess in your browser without using java mainly(and flash --- actually I am not sure whether you can make such thing with flash but anyway enlight me if I am wrong). The question pop-up in my hand while playing chess in Play Chess Online - Free Chess Games at Chess.com and look at the coded and saw no java! So I am really dazzled how does exactly happens this. I did some research but haven't found much. I suppose that should be some combination of JavaScript and server-side scripting. However any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
JLight

Well to embed Flash all you have to do is create a .swf, upload it and put some code in your html. This tutorial should help you out.
Flash in HTML

For Java you can either upload the files, and use JS to call them or use the <applet> tag.

Well thanks CommitedC0der but my question is more like: How do you make a browser game, for example chess, through which two players at a different places(different computer) can play against each other and all that without using Java because I believe Java has some unpleasant faults(thats based on my experience with Yahoo's Java base chess platform).

Thanks id advance again: )

Well the best solution would be to use Flash, the most common tool to create 2D(and some 3D) online games. You can get a free 30 day trail of Flash here: animation software, multimedia software | Adobe Flash Professional CS5

Once you have that you can start looking around, and get some experience with flash before you start creating your chess game.(if thats what you wish to create)

And these tutorials are pretty good.
