Hi, I'm conducting a bit of research for a term paper on how outsourcing effects the tech worker. If you could just take a second to answer a question, I would appreciate it very much.

Well, it doesn't really affect me. I suspect some of our members are recipients of the outsourced work, and greatly benefit.

I just started working so I wasn't affected (yet). If I do get outsource, I hope to get to move there :) And I didn't vote because none of those apply to me. Good luck with the research.

Oh, and I got a job in the tech sector and transitioned into a programming position.

I wanted to program for freelance jobs but, lately it has been harder for people like me to get a job as a freelancer given my age, experience, and education in the field. So, for now I can just call it a hobby that I enjoy. Then again, maybe it is not a matter of my age or education but, more skill related as I am self taught and am not as good as the average top noche programmer.
