Hello all. New to the forum here. I'm looking for some help on which languages I should really invest my time in to do what I need.

I'm looking to build highly modern, integrated website. None of this boring css, old school looking stuff. I want to build websites where people can make their own account, set up their own simple profiles and interact. For example, i set up tournaments for friends for all kinds of stuff and I wanna give them a site to go on, see who's winning, see whos bragging, etc. Its gotta look good too.

Is python good for this? I'm not sure where to begin or which programming languages are the best for building a killer website. Thanks,

Blake

with PHP and MySQL. Then I would think you could make the site look good with Adobe Flash. Im just not sure how integrable Flash is with PHP.

Thats my opinion, but Ive never used python. ~ Committed. :)

@Smilex Im pretty sure thats more JavaScript then any CSS. I think what he means is he doest want a boring old CSS, he wants dynamic stuff thats you just cant do with CSS, thats why I suggested Flash. ;)

I found that when I searched for CSS. All I wanted to say is that flash is overrated. One can make many equally or more awesome stuff, with faster loading times, using other methods. And I'm thinking about CSS3.

I dont know if I'd call flash overrated, it has its pro's and cons. It all depends on what your looking for. CSS just isnt made for dynamic stuff IMO, I think it's either JS/PHP/Flash or a combination of them to create the dynamic-ness that he seems to be looking for.
