entering passwords

Ok heres the scenario.

I have a textbox for a user to enter a password
IF the user enters the correct password and clicks the "GO" button they get taken to the next form
if they dont, they get an error msg asking to re-enter.

can somebody point me in the right direction regarding coding the button

Ah thank you. I figured it out in the end :) and yes, it is a college assignment. Thanks again. I think this site will be my second home lol
