Hi,

I have an idea for a program, but don't know if it already exists. I work in logistics. I have a lot of papers (+500/day) and want to modernise. I need a simple program, that would allow me to scan the papers and then name them (one by one) based on a specific number on the paper (the number is in the same location on all papers).

For instance: I have 359 papers. I scan them and run them through this program. The program analyses them one by one and names all the 359 files (scans) after the unique number on the paper (there's a different number on every paper).

Does such a program exist?

Thanks,

I don't know for sure if the numbers are printed plain. But if the number is printed in UPC (you know, those bars) or similar formats, then there are many of such applications.

But I can develop one for you, if you are interested. :)

It's not actually a bar code... It's just a number. How much would it cost me for you to develop the program?

Cheers, :)

Since scanners, or actually software are able to do OCR(optical character recognition) it shouldn't be too big of a problem to turn the part with the numbers you scan into text.
Certainly if they(the numbers) are printed by a printer, and not handwritten, which i suspect they are.
