I'm just starting python and I was wondering if codeblocks will work for it. If not, what is the best free compiler?

Python doesn't compile, but it interprets. Like .bat files on Windows or Bash on Unix. You can use any text editor you like, I prefer Notepad++ over IDLE since it works better with indentation.
A conclusion is where you got tired of thinking.
#define class struct // All is public.
