Short about myself: Norwegian guy with a big enthusiasm for programming and computers in general. Ive had a couple of years in what you guys might call highschool, or whatever comes before college, with IT. Still I have sat countles hours infront of the computer learning and trying out whatever i could get my hands on. Right now im in the army busting bad guys, but trying to read and learn as much as i can on the side. I have experience with most languages, but the most with php and python. I use Linux, which has forced me to learn bash/shell programming. This is also what im currently reading. Im also starting on a master (5 year course) in programming to the summer.
Still what really gets me on is security and such. I have read a couple of books, one "for dummies" type of book and allmost the whole "Hacking Exposed 6" (Tough book to get through). The latter is just filled with information, but i dont feel like I have the proper foundation of knowledge to really get all of it.
Any tips from the security people out there? Books, tutorials, excercises etc. Whats the best way to start learning?
Im not trying to get good in security and programming, I want to be great. Just so thats clear :)
Thanks for any help! Looking forward to my time on Codecall.
