Hi,
I want to give programming books to some people as a gift.
I would like to give them general advanced books.
Do you guys have any recommendations?
Thank you

I'm fond of:
The Pragmatic Programmer: From Journeyman to Master
Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code
Learn 7 Languages in 7 Weeks (working on it now)
Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software

I second Pragmatic Programmer, and Design Patterns. Also, Code Complete is excellent.
