Hi Brian,

Since you are new in email marketing, first you must know the ethics for sending unsolicited emails. Otherwise most of the receivers would find your emails annoying and trash them without read and worse some would report you to your ISP ended with your account suspension/removal. The latter is very bad for business.

> how to buy email server to send lots of email ?

First of course you have to register your domain name for your business. You don't want start your business with yahoo or gmail free email account, right? Find good ISP that offers both domain registration and email service. Currently I am using GoDaddy. So far their service quite reliable.

After you register your domain name, sign up for email service. Usually if the ISP supports domain parking you are automatically given an email account. However this "free" email usually very limited in how many emails you can send within a given time (daily or hourly). So you have to sign up for explicit email service to remove this barrier.

After the above two steps are okay, i.e. you have tested by sending some emails from your domain, then it's time to purchase bulk emailer software. This software allows sending bulk emails reliably (handle bounce backs, retries, etc), also subscriber management, etc. Go google to find, review, and purchase this software.

Then before sending your first mass mail you may want to invest sometime for websites so your recipients could get more details or to convey what your business is about and how it could help them.

Finally, you have to write very attractive message/content. Try to express the message clearly but still attractive. Usually the first suggestion is to try to place yourself in the reader's shoes. :)

Good luck!

You can get a free mail server application and start sending spam with little or no difficulty.

You say you have a lot of email addresses, but do you have any other data to go with those emails? If not, you don't have the ability to do email marketing, just spam. Note: you can get sued for spamming in the US.

Hey...
Email Marketing is using email to distribute your marketing messages. Most popular is growing your own list, for example a newsletter, and sending emails to the list containing tips along with things subscribers might be interested in buying. As well as your own list of tip-readers and potential customers, Email Marketing can also cover advertising on email newsletters or follow-up emails to your own customers
I think Group Mail and Handymailer are the best software for email marketing.... both are best...

Hello, Brian
Here are some basic tips for getting started in email marketing:

1. Get permission
Make sure your email marketing is permission-based which means you need the customer’s consent to contact them. To build up your contacts database, collect email addresses from your customers at every opportunity!

2. Plan your campaign
What do you want to get out of your email campaign? If you want to increase sales, think about how to achieve this. Will you make special offers designed to appeal to specific groups of customers? Do you want to invite customers to an exclusive shopping evening?

3. Call to action
Include a call to action in every email you send. For example you could invite customers to download discount vouchers, purchase a discounted product online, or agree to attend an event.

4. Links
Make sure you have links to your website so customers can find out more about individual offers. By monitoring customer click-throughs you will be able to measure your campaign’s success.

5.Subject line
The subject line has a major influence on whether recipients open and read emails. Keep it short and avoid using CAPS, exclamation marks or words like ‘free’.

6. Design
Make sure your design works! An HTML design will make your email look more professional, but if you don’t get it right, it will fail to render correctly across all inboxes or will get caught in spam filters.

7. Targeting
Targeting will ensure your email marketing sends the right content to the right people at the right time. By tailoring email content to different customer groups, you will significantly increase your chances of success.

8. Experiment
Find out what works. Consider doing some split testing, by sending slight variations on your email to different customer groups. For example, find out what happens if you change the sender’s name from male to female, or use a different subject header, or send the same email at different times.

9. Deliverability
Believe it or not, the main obstacle you will face is getting your email into your customers’ inbox! ISPs delete billions of emails each day. Make sure you choose an Email Service Provider with good deliverability rates.

10. Measurement
Measurement is the key to future success. By finding out how many emails were delivered and opened, and which links customers clicked on within the email, you can fine-tune your next campaign.

I can also recommend u a good email provider in case u may not want do this all on your own. I've used dotmailer email marketing software solutions & bulk email campaign services and found it to be really awesome.http://www.dotmailer.co.uk/

I cannot say anything about email marketing. Many times I get irritated by some senseless emails I receive. The title may be very attractive but the content is fully spam. So if you are serious in email marketing never do anything like this. Always make sure the email heading is related to the content of the mail.

Email marketing is one of the most efficient forms of marketing due to various reasons. Targeted emails are always beneficial in terms of reaching out to a wide range of people and this can be done in the most affordable prices. Emails also enable high level of personalization. Moreover the time required to receive responses is also less as compared to the other online marketing techniques.

Email marketing is a form of direct marketing, which uses electronic messages to communicate commercial messages to an audience. In its broadest sense every email sent to a customer or potential customer could be considered to fall under the umbrella of email marketing.
