Hi,

Every time I browse drupal site in Safari it automatically shows a promt to 'save as' the files in this case video. Therefore a user could download a clip I have on the site also it does the same with certain documents.

really lost, thought it might be some code alteration in .htaccess but Im not sure

What format is the video in? If you are hosting, for example, a .wmv file with the idea that it will play in the browser, but the user doesn't have an appropriate plugin for it, the browser will try to deal with it the only way it knows how: by downloading it.
