I was wondering if there are any good 3d Game Development softwares that you would care to recommend. I have been using Unity3D for the past year and I have had good a time with it, but it's not made to hold massive projects which I plan to work on. If anyone has a suggestion on a good 3d game development program (Best if it uses C++) I would Greatly Appreciate it. Thank you For your time![/FONT]

I think you'd be very interested in UDK(Unreal Development Kit). This engine is the real deal, it has been used to create some very good games, Gears of War 1 & 2, BioShock 1 & 2, and Wheel Man, just to name a few. The best thing about UDK is its free to download, and you only have to pay for a license if you sell the game.

Hope this helps ~ Committed. :)

There are a few on Sourceforge.net. I think OGRE is one.

I've done my research and I really cant find anything worth it. I'd say its time for computer upgrades. Or in your case a good desktop.

You can write your own engine or use an existing one. Clearly you should be using an existing one, as stated UNREAL is probably your best bet. Another good choice, though intricate and requiring more resources, is SourceSDK from Valve.

Uh, my computer has 4GB of RAM and I can run games that use the Unreal engine, like UT3. I really don't think it requires 8GB.

@mebob running a game is going to take alot less RAM then running the engine to create the game, there totally different things.

From the UDK website:

Quote

A. System Requirements

UDK requires a personal computer with the following system configuration:

Minimum:

    • Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista
    • 2.0+ GHz processor
    • 2 GB system RAM
    • SM3-compatible video card
    • 3 GB free hard drive space
    Recommended for Content Development:

    • Windows Vista 64 SP2
    • 2.0+ GHz multi-core processor
    • 8 GB system RAM
    • NVIDIA 8000 series or higher graphics card
    • Plenty of HDD space
The UDK will install .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 if you don't already have it. This will require an internet connection.
