[crossed wires]

hi all,
i have no knowledge whatsoever with c#, my experiance is limited to a little C with microcontrollers (microchip pics). my latest project reguires i interface a pic with a compac ipaq PDA using the usart on the pic.
what i am hopeing to do is write a program for the ipaq in C# that will log the data passed from the pic's usart. it will then auto save this data periodicaly into a txt file to be used later in excell.
at a later date i am hopeing for the ipaq to pass data and controll information to the microcontroller, but this isnt needed for now. so my question is seeing as i use a little C with microcontrollers would C# be a good choice for a language to learn for the interface, and how difficult it is to log data from rs232 using C#
