In what sense? Currently, it is only theoretical.

Completely Theoretically Possible = there is no device that can currently run a program designed for it. When they are available as high-end servers, I'll be interested. When we get a device that you can purchase at Best Buy, I'll be a lot more interested. My company can't write/sell software for hardware that doesn't exist.

Currently, my primary concern with quantum computing is that when the first device is created, our current encryption standards will turn into trash.

Quantum computing is an interesting topic. We've come a long ways towards that goal.....Isaac Asimov spoke of Multivac (a large self-aware super computer that filled an entire room) in some of his early sci-fi stories. Early computers were very large, and the changes have been exponential. But do you see a limit as to how small things can go? I can see processors at the chemical level....technically, that's what our DNA is, a set of instructions and the mechanisms to carry out those instructions.

I guess the question is....how low can you go?
Your thoughts are the architects of your destiny.
