Sup.
I was surfing the net, and suddenly thought - "How about building a PC from scratch?"
And I actually mean from scratch. You just sit on a chair, and build a processor, a motherboard, a power supply, a graphics card, some kind of storage device and removable media, and install an OS on it. Still don't get it? How about "Build you own computer from household materials" :c-lol:?
That's a crazy hobby, something awesome to do. I mean, it's like building a space shuttle at your backyard. But I love challenges... It might sound dumb, but please focus. Just tell me if it's possible.
I know it's possible to build a CPU, take a look at this. I'm pretty sure I can build a power supply, but I'm unsure about other components. I gotta build a CPU, graphics card, power supply, and some kind of media[SD cards?] to store data on.
Thanks, Mike.

From scratch-scratch costs too much money and time.
What I would do is start with a mini/micro/picoATX i.e. this Intel board (6x6 in.!), doesn't have to be as new:
IntelĀ® Desktop Board DG45FC - Overview
You can see how small it is, you can install your own HDD setup any way you wish, I think if there is a USB hub you can rig an SD card adapter and tell BIOS to boot off that, and make your own mean mini-case out of stuff!
If you're careful with specifications and loads, you can implement your own power supply from a non-PC source (i.e. power supply unit for an OEM device of some sort) that is much smaller than others, wire it all in yourself for maximum compactness. Heck, you can install a Unix based distribution and wire up a cheap micro-LCD so it can be actually portable, that'd be neat.
