Hey. I'm gonna get myself a very cheap Pentium 1 laptop tomorrow, because I want a PC to mess with. It's so cheap because it has a non-working[14"] screen, and no charger. I'm gonna buy a charger for it and use it as a Linux server or something. I'm also getting a free[original] Win95 CD, hurray!

Anyway, 14" is a little big, and the screen isn't even working. I'm gonna try to make it smaller by making a new case for it. I'll be able to throw away many things such as the screen and CD/floppy drives.
Do you have any idea how small can I make it? All I need is a motherboard/processor, hard drive, RAM, graphics card... and that's pretty much it. How can I build a better case? What's the best material for it?
Any other tips?

Thanks, Mike.

You want to make a case? If you go about making it, you're still going to need fans to cool it. I don't know if a commercial case is made to fit laptop motherboards.

You may want to look at Duct Tape Server
and Newegg.com - ATX Computer Cases, ATX Mid Tower, ATX Mini Tower, ATX Desktop Computer Case, Computer Case with Side Panel

LOOOOL
That duct tape server is even better than a cardboard PC(my original plan, but I was afraid it'll catch on fire). I think I'll use a combination of both. And I don't need a commercial case, I need a nettop case. They're made of netbook parts.
As about fans... I still have one fan from an old computer, average sized. Would what be enough? If it isn't, I have a small electronics store near me that sells average and small fans.

I'm getting the laptop this evening... Let's hope the guy didn't trick me!
