Hey guys,

I am not sure where to post this and this section seems to be the most appropriate.

I am looking to study a degree at university along the lines of Bachelor of Computer Science, someting that will teach me all the programming languages such as HTML, C and C++, PHP and MySQL etc. So eventually I will be able to build e-commerce websites etc.

Now the Uni I am looking at only offers a Bachelor of Information Technology. What is the difference between Computer Science and Information Technology?

Programs and Courses - Bachelor of Information Technology (BITC) - This is the Bachelor of Information Technology degree.

Course overview | Bachelor of Computer Science | Undergraduate | Courses | Charles Sturt University - This is the Bachelor of Computer Science degree.

There both sound very familar in terms of courses. So do they both teach all the programming languages? Or am I looking at the wrong degrees?

Regards,
George

There is a entire article on Answers.com - What is the difference between computer science and information technology
And I will move on to Computer Science other than Information Technology despite of the university.
And Software Engineering is a broader subject. I suggest you to learn on Object Oriented Programming, Database Systems, IT Project Management, Computer Networking, Internet Technologies, System Analysis and Design and Web Technologies.... That's what I learn...It is up to you to choose... But try to talk with your college advisor.
