I've just started with a dedicated server and am migrating 5 sites to it.
With the hosting plan, you purchase IP addresses as needed (none were included initially).
You have to purchase at least 1 IP (for your first website). In the control panel they list that website as having a "dedicated" IP.
For your remaining websites, they can all be "shared" hosted on the same first IP. (So it really seems as though all of the sites are shared IP hosted.)
4 of my websites are of minor importance to me, they will all share the same IP.
One of my sites is very important to me and it is the last one I will bring to this server.
My question is, should I purchase a second IP address for this single website? Is there an advantage to doing so?
1) The cost for the IP is very minimal, and not necessarily an issue. But why spend money for no reason.
2) I full understand inter-site linking and the value of separate IP addresses. That's not concern in my situation.
In regards to handling traffic, server load, ranking, really anything at all, would purchasing a dedicated IP for this one (most important) website provide any service or benefit?

Your case is equivalent of hosting your sites on drive D:\, and you purchase drive E:\ as a symbolic link to drive D:\. It is somewhat redundant unless you need that IP to do something other than the other servers.

A dedicated server is a server to which you are the only one that has access to the files, and you control the contents of the entire server. You are not sharing space with anyone else, nor can anyone else get to your data.

Other than better credibility, there is no immediate need for unique IP address. In the past (not very long ago) unique IP address was a requirement to have SSL in your website, but now it's not (although still preferable). So technically you don't need new IP address. However, since you already think the cost is very minimal, I think it's better to get it, for better credibility.

Could you let me know your websites addresses? especially the important one?

Unfortunately he was a bot, he won't say much more than the original post. :)

Getting a second IP address completely depends on the use of the website. You must spend on the second IP only if it is required. If there is a lot of traffic on your website, getting a dedicated IP will be the right choice though. This will also ensure the speed and uptime of your website.
