Please help me good people,

I have an old access file in .mdb which works with xp operating system.

I've recently changed my laptop and I now need it to work with windiows 7
so I need a expert to tweek the data file, plug in etc so that I can read my
old client list or at the very least be able to export the data to xl.

well, Access files isn't connected to operating system at all, it's connected to the office version it's Access is part of (or if its bought alone). Usually, newer Access versions has no problem opening older .mdb files, and then converting them to that file format you wish, or export them to a SQL server of any make.
What you need to do is to get an Access that is new enough to read that format. I think they changed extension in 2007 version (to .accdb) , so Access 2003 or newer would make it work.

Thank you very much, yes you're right I can open the file in access 2003 it looks for the access data file and obviously it can't find it because i'm now running every thing from my local machine
and it's looking for the data in a shared path c:\users\spirit\documents\groups\goups dada.mdb. The problem is I don't know how to change the path from access. help gratefully received...
