I recently realized that the name of my computer determines the author tag of .doc documents. I managed to make sure they get a different name in the future, but now I need to change the tag for all existing documents on my computer (it might look bad on my application if an employer sees that the document was written by "Gamer").
First question: besides .doc, is there any other type of file with this tag?
Second question: What is the code to change it?
If you tell me how to do this I can just put the code in my existing backup-generator to change the tag for all my stuff.
Help would be much appreciated, as this may affect the credibility of my applications.

Where are you seeing the Author tag? I believe it's part of the file format, but there is also an OS owner property that will exist as long as the file is on your network. Many office apps have Author tags (MS Office, KOffice, OpenOffice, etc).

@Winged, in windows explorer you can right click a word doc and select Properties, and in the tabbed dialog select Details tab. It was just some metadata.
@Anotheruser, I had came accross a shareware that does cleaning of these metadata (author, company, creation date, etc). But if memory serves they does not offer to change them, only remove them. Okay, found the url. But I don't know if I it's ok to post it here, so I will pm u the url.

Sorry, it turns out that the utility is a FREEWARE. I was just taking the safe way by saying it was a shareware. It's just been a long time since the last time I stumbled on that utility.

Add correction to my assumption that the utility was a shareware
