So hi! Im new here, and to programming....sorta.
Lets start off with my life story. I was born from a poor hispanic family, in Arlingto... ehh, lets skip this. Well, I first started getting into coding when I joined the Nintendo Nsider forums back in 2003 or 2004, cant remember the exact date, but I remember getting help from one of the other members with VB, and I was learning HTML at my school as well. HTML was easy, and i learned it pretty fast, as well as working with flash. I enjoyed web design, and even had a website dedicated to video game reviews. It wasnt huge, but I had a good small community.
Well, flash foward a couple years, and addictions to WoW, I forgot most of HTML, and decided to pick it up again, but then it hit me, HTML is easy, and im starting school again, why not focus on learning C++? So i rushed out of my house, and got a book from B&N called "Sams Teach yourself C++ in 10 minutes" by Jesse Liberty. Read some good reviews about it online and decided it'd b e a good place to start.
So.... Thats my boring story :D! Hopefully I can become a decent programmer, quit WoW recently, gave a friend the 29k gold I had on my account, and threw away my Blizzard authenticator. Going to focus on becoming a programmer, and I hope I can pick up tips from the pros. :)
PS: THe Candy was yummy :D

Welcome 4everwinter! Programming has so many pieces to learn and express its amazing for the mind.. Well, actually with all the bugs and errors and warnings I went insane somewhere along the road :)
How do you find C++ as your first language you're focused on learning so far? Those books are quite nice to summarize the languages features, you may wish to dabble into a more complex book teaching classes and algorithms, those are always fun to use.

So far im enjoying it very much. I plan on buying more books, but I read a lot of reviews saying this is a good starting points, before getting into the gaint books that might make me smash my head itno my monitor from all the information o-o;
Like I said, i am enjoying myself, but I wonder how long it will last before I go insane :(

That's the true fun of it, and I enjoy every second of my sanity. :)

Oh I forgot to say, another one of the reasons i decided to pick up C++, was because I want to make a program for my dad that will manage his Invoices and Proposals for his business. I know that wont be till i've extremely good with C++, and maybe other languages, but it gives me motive to keep trying.
Hopefully I can do it, if not, least I learned something xD
