My way and maybe the universal way to create multiple iterations of a program is to Create a new folder with the same name plus a serial number. i.e. Log1, Log2, Log3, etc. Copy all the files from the last to the new. In the new folder I delete .DCU's , DOF's, DSK's, .EXE and any files with the '~' mark in the extender. Then I double click the .DPR, & recompile .

However, frequently, I find, when saving data, for instance, a .cfg (configuation) file, it is saved in the previous iteration folder or some other folder. What Delphi 6 function(s) can I use to have the new iteration to always save data in the newest folder - the running program folder.

Thank you, Vern
