As though i'm new to this forum, i do wish to make a proposal for improved learning possibilities. Which is a new sub-forum that is aimed towards connecting people from different disciplines into make a smoother transition towards, for example, a new programming language. Or implementing newly learned “syntax” into 'x' application(s). With, for example, a mentor mentee approach.
This could help out the beginning programmers as well as the more advanced programmers by simply exchanging experience in a efficient way.
Now to smooth this transition even more (if the proposal is positively viewed), we could make, for instance, a program that that will handle the base for assigning different programmers (or even (“graphic designers”)) with different needs to each other. I won't go into a detailed algorithm for the program (sort of defeats the purpose of this proposal).
It would be great if CodeCall could supply its community with this type of approach. As it will have a great benefit to the community.
Opinions please

Pretty good idea.. Can you be more specific on the implementation?
How does this different from people asking general questions?

For one, it depends if its a leading function, as in a replacement for a forum. But that kind of innovation is not important for now. Instead i believe that it should function as a supportive role, secondary to the forum. Until proven to be useful beyond expectation (since it has commercial potential).
programmer1 seeks help
programmer2 seeks help
programmer1 enrolls into forum program 'x'
programmer2 enrolls into forum program 'x'
programmer1 needs 'a'
programmer2 needs 'b'
programmer1 has 'b'
programmer2 has 'a'
forum program 'x' notifies programmer1
forum program 'x' notifies programmer2
This could be classified as a partner and partner approach. Of course this is a very simplistic way of viewing. It would be practical if it were used for supporting project development.
I'm currently reading up on “Beginning Algorithms” and “Beginning Database Design”, as well as practicing Python. So my knowledge is limited as of now, a slow-but-surely. Perhaps i should update the thread daily/weekly and see if i can come up with a alpha version. Obviously it would be great to start it of as a community project.

How would this program be able to match up programmer1 and programmer2, what someone needs can't be described as easy as just one character(like 'a' or 'b') so how should it know what's the same thing(so it can match up programmers)?

Hahaha yes, i'm quite aware of that. It was never intended to represent the code as it is subjective, it is for the purpose to elaborate the concept without having to deal with the abstraction.

@Voiden: After reading your description, I think that what you're proposing is already being done on this forum. For example, if a member is learning "PHP" and has PHP questions, they can just post their thread in the PHP forum. Our members who are experienced (or interested) in PHP will often check out that forum. When they see a questions that they can help with, they can jump in and give help. If they don't understand the question, they can ask for clarifications to help move the thread forward. The original poster will then be able to get the response via email (either the answer or clarification questions) and come back to review the response.
Is that what you're thinking about? Our "program" is our members, who automatically helps others without being assigned by another "program".

Well yes and no, its simply ment for supporting project development. Surely you can post a topic on a forum looking to start a project. But how many projects with beginners actually
get to the point of developing something. Anyway, this probably still doesn't sum up the idea properly. I'll see if i can make a decent pseudo-code in the upcoming days.

Ah, yes! This is, after all, a programming forum.. ;)
