I am just curious how many people here are programmers as part or all of their career, who is in school for programming and who has no reason to program but purely for the love of it.
I am an auto mechanic lol... who just likes to program in his spare time :P

A career in programming would make my hair fall out as if it weren't already! My interest lies in computers, so I program for them: I love to code the most random things from start, like unicode parsers, threaded (albeit somewhat simple) HTTP servers, parts of PHP's core in my spare time and submit patches. Coding takes up a huge amount of my spare time and I enjoy every bit.

I'm studying Software Engineering currently and am either looking for a job to program applications or some sort of embedded systems/mechatronics job since I have a love for all things robotic <3

Programmer. I like it, myself.
Programming is a branch of mathematics.

I complain about the programmer we have at my work. I'd do better, at least in my opinion. :)

But no, I haven't a job in programming nor do I go to school for it (I actually want to go to school for Physics, not programming). I do it because I enjoy it.
Wow I changed my sig!
