I am a small business owner and investor. Me and a few of my business partners are interested in getting into the IT market. We believe that the future of all IT is in cloud computing and in purpose driven computers. We are based in the oil wealthy state of Alaska. Unlike most states, Alaska is not faced with major budget problems of any kind.

Currently we are working with state officials on bringing cloud computing and cloud networks to government organizations. Problem is, we don't have anything real to offer. We see a market for these technologies and we are building relations with potential customers, we also have a number of potential large money investors, but no programmers. For us to get the founding we need, We need more information on what is possible with cloud computing and what are the timelines for development.

At this time we are looking for individuals who are willing to volunteer their time to help build a new company offering products and services currently not available it the markets today. We want to take cloud computing to a new level.

Our vision for these technologies goes far beyond government networks, and the potential earnings for the founders of this company are more than seven figures.

So in a nutshell we are proposing a partnership. You as the programmer provide a blue print (based on our requirements) of what is possible on what timeline, we than provide the founding for you and a team of your choice to create the software. We guide the direction of the development and software based on the needs of our customers and what we feel the market voids are.

There is no money available upfront and nobody gets paid until we have access to development founds. We are looking at a startup cost of about 5m, and we expect a large portion of this amount to go into software development.

If you are interested in this offer please contact me with a resume.

1) you don't have a product, you have a strategy. That's backwards. You need to start with a product, and then use cloud computing if that's the most reasonable way to bring that product to reality.
2) working for free doesn't really put food on the table nearly as well as my current (paying) job.
3) based on what you've stated, it sounds like your business plan is "use a current buzz-word to generate interest, and then figure out how it can fit into a solution to an actual need". That's not a business plan, that's a failure plan.

Do you see any actual needs in government or the private sector that can be met by a programming solution? Do any of those needs suggest cloud computing as part of the solution?

Putting it a different way, what you've said so far sounds similar to someone saying "I've heard that UDP has a lot of advantages over TCP/IP, and I think we can leverage that technology, all I need is some developers," without realizing that they are just two ways for computers to talk over a network.

Cloud computing is one way to process data. The real issue is: what processing needs to be done?
Programming is a branch of mathematics.

Actually we do have a few very specific products in mind. I have some but very limited experience in programing and I have good reason to believe that the products we have in mind are realistic ideas on what is possible today. I chose not to go into too much detail into the specifics of what I would like to build because I am concerned about our concepts ending up on public search engines. For those interested I would gladly provide more information on what we are looking to have developed.

I understand this and I am not suggesting that someone writes code for me with out pay, what I am asking is for someone who his interested in such venture to work with us in creating a realistic timeline for developing very specific programs. With more accurate information on what and when, as to our technologies, we can access the founding to start development. Basically it's as if a potential home owner is requesting a quote and time line on a house to be built by a home builder.

Our concepts are much more elaborate than that, and it is my mistake if my post came across this way. This is my first time seeking programmers so I am really not sure on where and how to look. I would appreciate any input on this.

We are trying to find good programmers and developers with out giving away our software and hardware concepts. I may be too protective, but based on a good amount of research there is a lot to be made in what we are trying to do.

By being too protective you may put people off, as I have no idea who you are or what you're trying to do. For all I know, you could just take all my work and profit from it and I would get nothing in return. All I know about you, as a fact, is that you are new to Code Call with two posts asking me to work for free. This doesn't apply to only me of course, but all other posters here.

Well I just explained in my previous post that I am not asking anyone to give me any code until they get paid, and if trying a new venture is not for you, that's just fine ;), I am interested in working with someone who is willing to think a little out of the box and is into trying something new.

Originally, you said volunteer and that was very misleading.
