Hi,
I want to write a piece of software that copies a highlighted word or phrase and then puts it into a specific search box on a website and then hits enter. I would like to be able to change the target too.
IT would be in the right click menu and tied to a shortcut key too.
What do I need to do this and create an auto-install ?
Sorry about the noob question but the last bit of programming I did was with logo and basic in 1989 !
thanks
Which language ?

I'd probably use AutoIt, depending on the details of the site.

OK thanks.
The bit I can't work out is what to call the search box.
What would you call the search box on amazon.co.uk for example ?

You mean the name of the searchbox? Then I would call it "field-keywords".

FWIW I put the copied text on the end of the web address eg for " pdf writer "
Search for software at SnapFiles.com
