Hey guys and gals,

I have an HP6500 wireless printer that I am trying to print from. I had it up and working for a long time. However I recently reset my router (D-Link Dl-524) and password protected it. I can not for the life of me get my printing capabilities to work. I printed on a wireless config page but it only had the MAC address, I need the IP address as far as i can tell. I also tried going into the printer and getting it to detect my router, It found my network and ask for the password but then it gave and error after i entered it. I tried "detecting available printers" in the add printer wizard (thats how i did it the first time I set it up and had it working) but my comp could not find it. I have to get this fixed soon or my dad is going to make me reset the router and leave it unprotected; I live right by a shoping center, the amount of people leeching onto my connection is so much that I can't even play online games due to the lag, I really don't want to go back to that. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried trouble shooting from Wireless & network HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One Printer - E709a - HP Customer Care (United States - English) ?

Worst case, get the MAC of your computer and printer (should be on back) and plug them into your router's MAC filtering, therefor only those two computers can access the router (to the extent it is secure from that leeching).

@roger - yes i tried the HP site first. It told me to print out the wireless config page. but it did not have the Ip address it told me i needed only the MAC.

@NullWorm - I will try that. I have the mac address already and I'm sure a quick google search will tell me how to do what your saying.

Thank you both for the help.

Edit: It won't let me rep either of you?
