Now I know some might consider it a sacrilege to have hobbies other than programming but what y'all do other than programming (Hey sometimes even I do something other than programming *gasp* it's true).

For me I enjoy gardening (Weird for a programmer eh). I have 2 large gardens (one in front and one in back). jpconleyiv has seen many pictures I've taken on this years garden. I'm growing 4 different kinds of squash, 6 different kinds of peppers (jalapenos, cayenne, habanero's, green bell, red bell, banana peppers), Walla Walla sweet onions, 7 different kind of tomatoes, corn, 2 different kinds of zucchini, sugar snap peas, green beans, 5 kinds of lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, tomatillos, kohlrabi's, spinach, beets and 2 kinds of cabbage.

I also playing XBOX 360 with my son (he lives about 50 miles away now that he's over 18). When he comes over we play for hours on end (We beat Halo : ODST in one sitting). By the way, anyone as excited about me waiting for Halo : Reach next month (September 14th, 20 days but who's counting).

Back on topic, I also enjoy reading, I read a minimum of an hour every night before falling asleep. My all-time favorite author is Dean Koontz (I got about 40-50 of his books so far), but I also enjoy Tom Clancy as well (just not much as Koontz).

I also enjoy hunting & fishing. I hunt for Deer (Whitetail & Mule) & Elk every year. When I tell people that I'm a high-tech redneck not only do I mean it but I'm rather proud of it. You come to my house, you see something that isn't the most beautiful house on the planet (hey it was built in the 60's) and parts are in dire need of attention, but in less than 6 years I will own the title (not too bad for someone only 42 eh). But come into my house and you'll see the high-tech part.

In the living room I got a 50" Sony Bravia LCD HDTV, in the bedroom it's a 32" Vizio LCD HDTV, in the computer room it's a 32" Vizio LCD HDTV (Got this one today, it's my wonderful wife's birthday present) and 3 high performance PC's (both with dual 21" LCD monitors and a homemade NAS system I am working on (it's almost done. The TV's in the living room and bedroom also have Blu-Ray players (just got an HDMI DVD player in the computer room for the time being.

Wow, that turned out to be a long post lol :blushing:

I love... going on roadtrips, star gazing, robots and going camping. I don't get to do these hobbies very often due to other priorities but they're my absolute fav. things to do. :)

I really enjoy reading. I like classic literature and comic books, preferably graphic novels. I'm a huge horror film geek <3!!! I also like video games as long as its a good one. @PsychoCoder I cannot wait for Halo: Reach!!! We are friends on Live and need to play when it comes out!

I have seen Psycho's gardens and they are AMAZING!! (I'm waiting on Zucchini and jerky).

lor- I really like to camp as well! Funny thing is I never get to do it. :(

From time to time i get a huge sugar high and try to draw manga style pics, i suck at it but it is fun I have the art pens, charcoal, art gum and so on for the task.

I don't think so. They suck really badly. Not like "wow thats bad in an average kind of way" more like "ROFL did a blind first grader with a twitchy hand draw those?". always wished I had more artistic talent, i really do enjoy trying to do artsy things. I even went out and bought corel painter 11 but alas it turns out i can't paint either.

Mountain Biking!!! :D

...sadly, Florida is...well...flat...and the nearest decent biking is over 2 1/2 hrs away(by car) :(
I'm trying to learn mtn bike trials(cause' it's awesome), but it's not easy. Actually, borderline physically impossible is a better way to describe it XD

At first I must of looked mentally retarded to my neighbors because I spent months trying to learn to hop my bike(just a bunnyhop) and even when I got good I could only clear 2 feet.
Now I'm a little better and am able to pivot, backhop(where you balance on the rear tire by hopping) to an extent, hop decently, and trackstand for enternity.

I feel so awesome about my progress until I type in "Trials Biking" on youtube and watch the first video that comes up :irritated:

I am also into gardening though have only been for a short while. I'm growing my first batch of tomato's. I also like anime, horror movies, and techno music. You guys have inspired me to read more (which i used to do a lot of) so I will try to read for an hour before bed tonight. I also go to raves when i can. That mainly raps up my hobbies.

Kudos to you @agnl666 on the gardening. It's a lot more gratifying than most people think, to eat something you grew from a seed

I'm excited to eat my tomato's. I'm a vegetarian and it seemed only right to try to grow my own food as well. I like seeing them get bigger and knowing that I'v been aiding in that as well. It is very satisfying.
