Kiwi device to make broadband 50X faster | Stuff.co.nz

I have no idea what the internet is like elsewhere in the world but here it's not so amazing..

(NZ$110/month for 50GB @ this speed)

I read this article yesterday and it seems like it's going to be huge in New Zealand since it's signed contracts with Telecom, the biggest/second biggest internet & mobile provider in NZ.

This device also acts as an electricity backup system - it can detect if there's a power outing and can keep phone lines running for multiple hours, this can be used for endless things..

Just an interesting read so check it out.

Kiwi ingenuity ftw.

Backup unit sounds awesome IMO, since DSL doesn't require electricity to stay up (laptops would still get internet in outtage)

PS: 19.13Mbps beaver powered :)

Yeah, I remember my switch to broadband quite a few years back, it was so awesome to experience the multitasking I could finally do on pages.
