Hi there,

I'm trying to find a language that i can learn! i already tried PHP, but my computer has problems with Apache and other servers. i've already posted what the problem is but nobody seems to have the answer!

I want to learn a language that i can use for automating tedious tasks ("scripting"). Could someone give me a good suggestion, i've already been working with html and Javascripting! i would love to learn a language that is a good performing, multi-purpose language(used for automating tedious tasks ("scripting") and web app building) without me needing a server to execute my scripts! I've heard of python, ruby, Java, or C#, or visual basic but i have no idea what the pros and cons are for each language!!!

I thank you in advance!!!!!!

I would say, stick to javascript and then learn JQuery jQuery: The Write Less, Do More, JavaScript Library. If you are interested in client side scripting. Once you are comfortable with that you can try Java Servlets and JSPs which your are going to need an application server to run.

Your can do very cool things with JQuery and you won't have trouble with it since your already familiar with JavaScript.

Cheers!

Why not keep learning PHP...
Install XAMPP...
What is the problem, lots of routes don't let webservers run althrough it should still work locally.
Please, write clearly with proper structure. Double spacing makes the text feel un-jointed, Capitalizing Every Word Means People Stop Before Every Word Sub-Consciously Which Is A Pain In The Backside, and use code tags! (The right most styling box).
