Hey, currently I'm using seperate .wmv and .mov files on my website which are embedded into the web page... Users click if they are a windows or a mac user and it redirects them to the appropriate file depending on their OS... Well I've been getting some complaints that some of the people don't have Windows Media Player 11 to play the .wmv file, so I wanted to ask if there is a way to make the embedded video compatible for Windows Media Player 8+?

If not, what should I do? I realize that Flash will work for everyone aslong as they have the correct Adobe plugins, however, I'm using a widescreen video with the dimension 1440x1080 and the quality just looks terrible... So basically... I'm just trying to find a way to display my widescreen video, while having good quality, and also having it compatible for all windows users.

How about making them in a non-proprietary format? mkv is becoming pretty common, and there are players for most OSs. .wmv is a pain, to me. You can use HandBrake to convert your videos.
