how to get rid of the space - borderlayout

Hello,

I used the BorderLayout.West code and my problem is instead of going to the leftmost part of the frame, it leaves a space. Please see image: Posted Image
I made the buttons using grid layout first and then I used BorderLayout.West but it's not working. Please help!

maybe u didn't reset the insets...i am not sure on this...just a try...
