Hi guys,
its been a while since i started a thread here :).
I need some suggestions for this.
Ive been working in a nice and small PHP web development company for over 6 months now, I've gained alot of experience and worked on some nice projects and with nice people.
but lately I've been so boooooooooooooooooooooored at work, I'm getting lazy at code and not writting enough comments and do not follow proper coding standards. after 4pm i get really sleepy and bitch about not sleeping well lastnight. I kinda feel im doing the same thing over and over again but in a different framework, project or way.
any ideas to spice things up at work?
I get bored real fast at work

You're doing better than I am. I'm still a supermarket drone, and I'll be lucky if I can get a job crunching data after getting my associate's degree.

Make your office really awesome! Considering the company you work in is small, I bet the way you do things is more flexible than large companies, like instead of neat and tidy cubicles, you could totally trick out your office. Make it somewhere you want to be in! Maybe (during your free time) work on a personal project. Make a blog. Thats all I got ;) Hope I was able to help
My Personal Blog l Learning C++ l I'll be famous soon enough.

Gladwrap your co-workers whole desk or put sticky notes over everything they own so the only colour you see is yellow... >:}
But nah I would stop any job once I lose interest/determination, then work is like so pointless. Can't really do that if money is tight though so yeah definitely start gathering sticky notes.. :)

It's amazing how repetitive some aspects of programming can get. What have you done to improve some of your code, lately?

thank you guys for all your help
@WP:
-I started using the phpdoc style comments and generating documentation from it (although nobody ever read it).
-also I started improving my SQL "select" queries
-in Javascript I got used to making css effects without jQuery or Mootools that actually work on ie5
-no more repetitive code, i used to do that alot

To curb my boredom at work, I've taken up Mafia Wars, Farmville, and Evony.

@amrosama: do you have any side projects? For me, I'm generally on both of my sites during the day so that I can keep myself entertained/motivated... context switching helps me stay engaged..
(warning: I am also a workaholic, so be careful before you start any side projects...)

I hate it when they do that

I usually check my mail and codecall every now and then at work, but never opened FB on this pc, Isn't that against workplace ethics?
