I'm a Freshman CSC Student. I want to start working on my Graduation Project NOW. And I mean NOW as of 2 weeks ago. I want to work on The Sixth Sense Project. No Idea what to study, what courses to take, where to get the "Open Source" that Parnav Promised of. I have no Idea wt to do how 2 do it. I need some Expert people to help me. My Professors in my College wont take me seriously as I'm still a freshman. Don't know where to ask about this in this Forum, I think Projects forum? I never tried to understand wt it was and what is it in the 1st place. Is it Graduation Projects like me with people trying to find mentors or what? Guys, I really need help, my Professor's Actions got me depressed and De-Motivated. Can any 1 help me?
Best Regards,
Beeko.

Well, they have contact information on their website. Have you emailed them?

Ya, E-mailed Parnav ... never got a reply Y_Y
Tried to convince my Professors to e-mail him themselves, you know, as a formal contact. A Famous University PhD contacting them then it is serious.
Cant do a thing if they wont reply me :S

Well before you know what you need to study, you gotta figure out what you want to make. Try going by these steps:
1) Brainstorm: really think about what you want to make. Try to be inspired by anything and everything. You will get an idea sooner or later.
2) Ask: once you know what you wish to program, ask your professors and everyone on the forums what language we think best to make your idea come to life.
3) Study: Get some tutorials, books, and etc. and study! Take notes and practice what you learn.
4) Start: start your program, even if it may be extremely basic stages
5) Add: as you study add on to what you already have, and don't rush it! After all you have a couple years :D
I'm not a pro, but I think trying to stick to those basic rules should (hopefully) help you along. Its great that your starting now; I bet its gonna be awesome!

teen look here: SixthSense - a wearable gestural interface (MIT Media Lab)
Hounestly man unless you have done something of note yourself I don't see you getting on the project. Maybe if you were going for your PhD or maybe even your masters. Take time to really concentrate on your studies work hard and prove you have what it takes.

Exactly what my Professors told me :D
I'm not trying to get on the Project, I want to study it, know it's Language, its structure... every thing about it in the coming 3 Years, so that my Graduation Project could be an improvement on it, and my whole future after that is based on Developing it.

That looks like a really cool project! It adds to how we do things everyday.
I would get into studying a programming language that can be used with robots.
Wow I still can't get over how amazing that is ^^ so interesting
I'm just getting exited :D

I really don't blame you. I think I might want to study up on that as well. The only problem is my lack of recourses and etc.
I would start off by looking into the main components of the program itself. Like how to detect motion and how to project things using code and stuff. The programs understanding what gestures are being used is all programming.
I'm still exited ^^
I'm not sure about this, but you know what might get you into the project (after you learn the language and stuff of course) would be to develop something useful to add to the program, kind of like what your wanting to do. If you show them what your program could do, I bet your would get a free camera thingy to work with on the team.
Maybe? I don't know I'm just talking lol
