Hello,
I would like to make a Sports Fantasy Website with just the local volleyball teams in my state. Would C# and Sql be the best way to proceed or would I be over complicating it?

Depends on what exactly you want to do with the site. For more elaborate stuff, C#. PHP in my opinion should suffice for most stuff. I'm not an expert, though.
