It's almost impossible to tell. There will always be websites, but I doubt Apple is going anywhere any time soon, either. What do you WANT to do?

You have to know Objective-C (witch kind of sucks in my view) to work on the iPhone, yet, it is more fun and less common. If you have no problem with Objective-C go with the iPhone, else, ASP.NET is you way.
The new iPhone might suck (according to users), but trust me, with all the iPod/Phone/Pad's around you will have a place to work for a lot of time.
P.S. You need a Mac to make iPhone apps, or you can just install a hacked OS X for PC's (cheaper but you never know how good it will work).
