Hello

I'd love to create a partially "user-driven" e-commerce website. By user-driven I mean that anyone could register and add products to the website. How ever, creating all that from scratch would definitely take long time and I'm sure some similar website system already exists either for free or for purchase...

Here are some examples of such website system:
3D Models, 3D Modeling Textures and Plugins at TurboSquid
3D Models, Stock Photos & Images, Textures at The3dStudio.com - 3ds max lwo c4d obj fbx x dxf dwg stp igs ma mb jpg
Buy 3D Models, Sell 3D Models, Free 3D Models Download at 3DExport
Amazing 3D Models - Buy or Sell Models Now

and there are tons of other websites like these.
Basically you can register, add new item you want to sell (in my examples 3d model) by uploading the model, screenshots, setting the price, name, description. Once you're done and submit it, the item is added straight away and the same minute anyone can come on the website, see that item, purchase it and after purchasing get instant download.

All of those websites seem to operate in a very similar way, so there must be some sort of website system similar to this available for download or purchase...

Anyone know?

Thanks

It looks pretty straight-forward. That said, you're dealing with a VERY crowded market. There are a ton of these types of sites.

Well I'm not going to make another "sell your 3d models here" website, it's something else but it would work in the same kind of way where users can register, upload and sell their files.

Do you know what website system they use? Are there any systems like that or at least similar to that on the internet for free or purchase?

It's probably just hand-coded PHP. I don't know if any such systems exist as a package, but it shouldn't be to hard to take a basic "we sell stuff" site and give certain people the ability to add products.
