So I started a thread at phpDevenetwork forums <http://forums.devnetwork.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=117127>

Basically, I assume i'm connecting to the database just fine as I see no errors, but whenever i prepare a statement, mysqliObj reports to have affected_rows = -1. According to the phpmanual, this means the query produced an error, but both the error and errno properties are both empty. the returned mysqliStmtObj cannot execute the prepared statement because it has had an unknown (as far as I know) error.

any ideas..?
