SO, as you may or may have not heard, New Zealand is doing SO WELL in the World Cup! It's the first time we've ever scored a goal! We haven't even lost a game yet! And that's actually really, really amazing since we suck hard at soccer/football. We've drew twice, one with Slovakia and the other with Italy. Italy only scored against us because they got a penalty shot... Otherwise we would have won against ITALY. It doesn't seem like a big deal but we're like almost last in the rankings or something and Italy is like #9...
So yeah, GO ALL WHITESSSSSSS.

I also stayed up the other night to watch the Holland vs Japan game, I thought my other team (Holland represent woo) would have it in the bag but Japan put up a really good defense and they managed to keep us out for a while.

Do you guys watch the FIFA World Cup? Who are you cheering for? How are your home teams doing? Have you heard about the New Zealand team? :D

Yeah, they're looking quite good. I can't vote for England because of what they said about us Canadians at our Winter Olympics, they said some pretty mean things. Man I gotta start watching this, I'll go look up the coverage times.

England are actually doing pretty bad anyway, they got boo'd off the field LOL.

During one of the training events an athlete unfortunately hit the wall too fast (while bobsledding if I recall) and passed away soon after; and they completely blamed it on us, and they said some quite nasty things stating Canada wasn't so suitable, well they'll get their karma when the 2012 Winter Olympics are there. If I were to vote I'd vote South Africa, they've got some awesome players, glad there's finally another event there, hasn't been much like that since my day way back..

I also stayed up to watch the Portugal vs. DPR (Korea) too, did any of you guys watch that also? And see Ronaldo's goal? Soo awesome!

I've been following the Wolrd Cup since is started last week and boy do England suck bad! lol

Portugual played today and scored 7 goals against Korea!

Also congrats lor on New Zealand! Can't believe they were about to beat Italy who are the wolrd champions! lol

Thanks! Our whole country is like in shock... like we suck that much. Well not sure if we suck anymore, we've probably moved from like the 78th ranking to like 20 or something. When we scored our first goal against Slovakia we were like "...............OMGGGGGGGG A GOALLLLLLLLLLL... wait - how the heck did that happen...".

Sorry about New Zealand not getting through, but hey neither did Italy!? So atleast you beat them in the group table!

Japan scored 2 free kicks today!

I think overall Brazil or Argentina will win this year.

Who do you tihnk will win ?

At least you didn't lost any matches, 3 draws :) New Zealand made it to the Word Championship, Sweden didn't :P

Yeah I think Argentina have a good shot at the title but I'm HOPING that Netherlands will win since they're also my home team<3.

Haha aw sad, oh well, maybe next time for Sweden - nothing is impossible now since one of the worst teams bet the defending champions in the ranking tables!

I really thought this thread would be more popular, doesn't anyone pay that much attention FIFA nowadays? Mind you, this is a programming website, I know the guys in my class are more interested in doing their math HW than sports, haha.

I've been watching enthusiastically! Now that Italy is out, I'm kind of hoping America can pull off a win, although to be honest, it might make everyone hate us even more...
